Compassionate Communication Practice Group

With the current climate in our country, how easy do you find it to really listen to others with love and compassion? Like any other muscle, compassionate listening is a muscle that needs to be exercised and used regularly in order to be available to us in the most difficult conversations.

Beginning in February, Bethel is hosting a community-wide Compassionate Communication (Non-Violent Communication/NVC) Practice Group which will meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month from 7-8:30 pm. Beth Astarte, Jean Doane and Patti Matson will take turns facilitating.  The first meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 13 at 7 pm in the conference room.

This practice group is open to anyone with a desire and willingness to practice speaking and listening with a compassionate heart with the intention of connection and understanding. Each week we will review some of the concepts and then practice using them. You are encouraged to bring your communication challenges to the group where we will work together to learn and practice more compassionate and non-violent ways of communicating.

If you have questions or are interested in attending, please contact Beth Astarte.
