During this Eastertide season, the liturgical season from Easter to Pentecost, Pastor David will be offering a worship series based on the book, Holy Envy: Finding God in the Faith of Others, written by New York Times best-selling author Barbara Brown Taylor. This week we celebrate the significance of Earth Day.
One of the greatest opportunities progressive Christians have in our world today, is to more fully understand other faith traditions. In the Spirit of the Resurrected Christ, we believe that loving others means building relationships with open hearts and open minds. We need not be threatened by the faith of others. In fact, our own Christian faith can be deepened by exploring how others believe and live-out their faith in God (however they may define God.)
We hope that this 6-week series may help you embrace more fully our evolving culture which is becoming more and more diverse. Building bridges that honor differences and celebrate common values is vitally important for today’s world.
